En route vers Lampang, notre première destination et une petite ville où Rujira a passé environ trois ans quand elle était plus jeune, nous nous sommes arrêtés sur le bord de l’autoroute pour manger. Deux moines bouddhistes se sont présentés et nous leur avons fait des offrandes.

Manger en Thaïlande est vraiment ridicule côté prix. Pour notre voyage dans le nord du pays, nous étions six à manger trois repas par jour. En moyenne, par jour, nous avons dépensé l’équivalent de 35 dollars canadiens. Combien cela nous aurait-il coûté au Canada? Je n’ose imaginer! En fait, manger ici n’est tellement pas cher et tellement peu compliqué que pratiquement personne ne garde de nourriture à la maison. Il suffit de sortir de chez soi et on trouve un petit resto de fortune à quelques mètres à peine.

Dans l’après-midi, nous nous sommes arrêtés pour visiter un aquarium ainsi qu’un enclos de lapins. Les poissons étaient vraiment sympatiques et j’en ai profité pour prendre une centaine de photos...

Nous sommes arrivés à Lampang après une longue journée en voiture, avons mangé une dernière fois puis sommes allés nous coucher sans rien avoir visité de la ville.

We woke up very early in the morning under a pouring rain and the six of us prepared to leave for our trip up North.

On our way to Lampang, our first destination and where Rujira lived for about three years when she was younger, we stopped to eat at a little restaurant near the highway and two Buddhist monks came; we made some offerings.

To eat in Thailand costs ridiculously little. For our trip in the North, we were six to eat three meals a day. In average, every day, we spent about 35 Canadian dollars. How much would this have cost us in Canada? I dare imagine! In fact, eating here is so easy and cheap that almost no one keeps food in their house. You only have to get out of your house and you’ll most likely find a little restaurant a few meters away.

In the afternoon, we went to visit an aquarium as well as a place in which they keep lots of rabbits. The fishes were quite cool and I took about a hundred pictures…

We arrived in Lampang after a long day in the car, ate one last time and went to bed without seeing much of the town.
